That perhaps life is to make a home, of any special place where you are feeling close to yourself.
For 10 years, when my love for São Paulo did not exist, I longed to know the place of my dreams: Rio de Janeiro. By the way, and since there are no direct buses, I accidentally get to know the city that would be my home.
Little by little, I was discovering this wonderful city, with diverse people, special places with unforgettable secrets, that keep my happiness, tears, and fun, for a long time! It was here that I fell in love and it was here that I met some of my best friends: Cami and Juli. How not to love this place?
I would like the whole world one day to be able to discover all the places that Sao Paulo has, here are my recommendations:
1- Visit the beaches: Ilhabela, Guaruja, Sao Sebastian, Santos, and the most beautiful: Ubatuba, there are several ways to get to the beaches that many people are unaware of. You can take a bus, rent a car or search for ride-sharing on apps like uber and blablacar.
2- Ibirapuera Park: this is a large park with distractions such as a jazz night show, and basketball courts, it can also be used to sunbathe in summer or run.
3- Walk on Paulista Avenue or rent a bike during the weekend.
4- Get to know the buildings and classical arts of Architecture at the SESC, there are several and in one day you can see them all!
5- If you still want to discover more about architecture, you can also visit the Japan House. There are exhibitions every day and also a Japanese food restaurant inside that is delicious.
6- Best places to eat: Cafeteria urbe, tropical banana, Makoto brasil, ohkasushi, botanikafe, Olha Ri, itzzabr, Pita bekab, two tropics, Mani manioc, A window bar, Cosi cucina italiano, torta no quintal, Perseu coffee house, Hira Izakaya ramen.
7- Spend the day in the Campos de Jordao, go early in the morning, walk through the streets and eat in a restaurant on the fairgrounds. (The road is beautiful, if you can rent a car to go and also stay for a night to enjoy more, you will not regret it.)
7- Going to a bar in Vila Madalena and Pinheiros, for Brazilian music and some beers.
8- Visit the municipal theater and the old center, walking.
Using the metro in Sao Paulo is very easy, make sure you have internet so you don't waste time with the map.
Sao Paulo is a city where it is never too much to return.
